11th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC)

A delegation of Ambassadors from the "United States of the World" and members of the "Fondazione Mediterraneo" participated in the 11th UNAOC Global Forum, whose general theme was:
"UNAOC: Two Decades of Dialogue for Humanity - Promoting a New Era of Mutual Respect and Understanding in a Multipolar World".
"The 11th UNAOC Global Forum, said Michele Capasso, Secretary-General of the United States of the World, "took place at a critical moment in history, characterised by deepening divisions, widespread conflicts around the world and dwindling confidence in the effectiveness of global governance structures and the multilateral system. Thanks to High Representative Moratinos and his staff, it was possible to hold a significant and important event at this time".
The Forum brought together political leaders, international and regional organisations, religious leaders and representatives of various faiths, as well as representatives from the private sector, civil society, academia, youth, the arts, sports and the media, who renewed their shared commitment to dialogue, mutual respect and understanding.
UNAOC is entering its third decade, and the Forum was an appropriate occasion to commemorate UNAOC's 20th anniversary and chart its future course in the pursuit of lasting peace.

The "Consortium of Good People" is born

The Secretary General of the "United States of the World", Prof. Michele Capasso – first signatory of the Charter of Values of the "Consortium of Good People" – spoke at the Chamber of Deputies on the constituent day dedicated to values and the common good.
The initiative, promoted by the "Una Nuova Agorà" Association, aims to bring back to the centre of public and private life those simple but decisive values that should guide every community: solidarity, honesty, social responsibility, care for others and the ability to recognise beauty as the foundation of coexistence and growth. It is a response to a fast-paced, often distracted time, as clearly emerges from the official concept of the event, which states that today, in an era marked by indifference and confusion, there are still immutable values capable of guiding people towards a better future.
The "Consortium of Good People" was created to establish a network that unites and promotes those who are committed to their profession, community or cultural activities with a constructive spirit and a sense of responsibility.
The Charter of Values, which represents the heart of the initiative, brings together the principles that should guide every society: humanity, kindness, honesty, transparency, active solidarity, recognition of diversity as a source of wealth, beauty understood not only as aesthetics but as a way of being in the world, sustainability, social responsibility, courage and perseverance. It is a shared commitment, a moral pact that those who adhere to it choose to respect in order to contribute to a fairer and more liveable future for all.
The central message of the initiative, “Beauty, when shared, becomes a great community”, encapsulates the essence of the project: the belief that good, when done together, generates more good; that beauty, when it is not the privilege of the few, becomes a social force; and that communities are built with concrete actions, not slogans. This is where the Consorzio della Bella Gente intends to start in order to build a new path, capable of uniting different people who are animated by the same desire: to contribute, in their own role, to making the country better and dedicated to values and the common good.
Among the speakers was Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia, president emeritus of the Pontifical Academy for Life and the Pontifical John Paul II Institute.
