The Antonino Caponnetto Foundation - a member of the United States of the World - aims to fight the mafia and organised crime through the study and publication of reports on criminal infiltration in Italy and other countries around the world.
It was founded in 2003 in Florence in honour of magistrate Antonino Caponnetto, one of the main protagonists in the fight against the Mafia that culminated in the maxitrial in Palermo in 1986, on the initiative of Elisabetta Baldi Caponnetto, Antonino's widow, and Salvatore Calleri.
Among the main activities carried out by the foundation are: the organisation of national and international antimafia summits, the drafting of reports on mafia infiltrations in Italy and other countries, the organisation of observatories on mafia phenomena, organised crime and terrorism, and the dissemination of the culture of legality in schools.
