In 1990, Michele Capasso turned Gustavo Rol's intuition and appeal into the institutional project of the 'United States of the World'.
As early as 1970, when he was only sixteen, he understood the risk to humanity caused by the bureaucracies of international bodies often unable to ensure freedom, social justice, peace and shared development because of complex rules and crossed vetoes.
On 21 September 1990, accompanied by Mario and Pia Molinari, Michele Capasso met Gustavo Rol at his home in Turin in Via Silvio Pellico, stating: "An extraordinary enlightened meeting that changed my thinking, the project of the United States of the World will accompany every initiative of mine from now on. It is an indispensable action for the salvation of mankind".
From that moment, at the head of the Fondazione Mediterraneo and as Secretary General of the "United States of the World" - together with men and women of culture and science from various countries - he has lavished resources and expertise for Peace, producing concrete actions that many authoritative protagonists of recent history have defined as examples of how the "impossible" can become "possible".
