Presentation of the Programme "MOTHERS"

The "United States of the World" - with the autonomous sections "Fondazione Mediterraneo", "Kimiyya, women actors of dialogue", "Mediterranean Academy", "House of the Arab Maghreb", "Maison de la Paix", "Maison des Alliances" and Museum of Peace - presented in Naples and Paris the programme called "MOTHERS", dedicated to the mothers of victims of conflicts and wars around the world: to remember tragedies, exterminations, genocides and to bear witness not only to the pain but also to the hope for a future of peace and cooperation, so that these tragedies will never be repeated.
The programme includes:

1. Workshops and seminars dedicated to the “Mothers of the victims of conflict”.
2. A forum on the subject every three years.
3. The creation of the monumental work “TOTEM OF PEACE” - symbol of the “United States of the World” - to be dedicated to the “Mothers of Srebrenica” and all mothers of victims of conflict around the world. This highly significant work by sculptor Mario Molinari will be created in a “martyr city”.
   The work will contain urns with documents, testimonies, relics and objects representing the “Mothers” of the victims of the main “martyr cities” of the 20th and 21st centuries.
   The creation of a MUSEUM OF MOTHERS, dedicated to the "Mothers of Srebrenica" and to the mothers of victims of conflicts around the world: video and audio testimonies, writings, documents, artefacts, objects and much more will make this museum unique and a living place of testimony and love.
4. The creation, in existing museums, of a special section entitled "MOTHERS" to be dedicated, in particular, to the mothers of victims of conflicts in that city, in that region (for example, in Gernika, Marzabotto, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kiev, Aleppo, Saigon and many other cities).
